We have a situation...
GGN community this free agent period has been very jumpy. Whether it's the various free agents we should/shouldn't
have signed or Idzik and the job he's done so far etc...
We can all admit we have a lot of holes to fill, but what really has been our weakest link since we traded up for Sanchez? OL - is usually above average, DL - Above Avg, WR/TE - talented usually weak or injured, RB - above Avg.
The one constant negative I can point to has been QB play...Mostly by negligence (Brunell, Tebow) have we been
victim of poor play by our starters but also having no viable backup or competition for 5 full years, injuries to Garrard or Sanchez (seriously laughable).
Our offense has been stagnant ,predictable and unwatchable. Our defense has been playoff caliber year in year out.
Vick, only a cpl short years ago was to payed big money to be a star, injuries and declining play made him anything but for the money and responsibility he assumed. The man can still move the chains and can pass believe it or not better than our last 2 QB's.
Signing Vick to an inexpensive contract over a season or two, gives us a playmaker in a position we haven't witnesses in far too long. What's the worst that happens? He beats Geno and starts and if he gets injured or sucks than Geno takes back the helm after riding the bench like He should have anyway.
Vick is not meant to be a star like He was in ATL or PHI. He can move the chains, has more to prove and most importantly..for the first time in 5 years can keep Rex's D off the field for a few plays and maybe even score some TD's.
Let's go for it...it can't be worse.
