Trading for Mike Glennon.

So as we all probably know by now, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed Josh McCown from Free Agency. Lovie Smith took an unusual approach and has already named McCown his starting QB going into to the season. I find this unfair to Glennon, who played very well last year, and oddly straightforward. Another weird factor is there is no QB competition. Glennon will not have an opportunity to compete for the starting job in training camp. He will enter the season as the backup QB.

I don't agree with this, and I surely don't understand it. But whatever. The Bucs aren't my team. But here here is my proposition.

Tampa Bay Acquires: 2013 4th Round Draft Pick & Mark Sanchez.

New York Acquires: Mike Glennon.

Mike Glennon 2013 Stats: 59.4% Accuracy, 19 TDs, 9 INTs (13 Games Played)

Sanchez is dead weight anyway. This way the Bucs get an experienced Backup QB & they get their draft pick back. Best case, we get a starting caliber QB. Worst case, we get a high level backup QB. I think its a win win for both sides. Glennon isn't exactly my taste when it comes to QBs. As you can all tell from my affinity to Johnny Manziel, I have a serious crazing for a dual threat QB. Glennon is a traditional drop-back passer with the athleticism of my grandmother. But I just can't deny what he showed last year. He is a good decision maker, shows solid accuracy and has a cannon for an arm. I also personally think his footwork and awareness are GREAT.He seems to always know where everyone is and how the pocket is collapsing around him. Quick feet to move away from the collapse, while keeping his eyes up and knowing when to dip back or step up in the pocket. Even though he isn't my desired "type" of QB, I cant deny his talent and he's definitely a guy I would have no problem getting on this team.

Not only would him and Geno provide good competition for each other, but if your asking me, I think Glennon showed a much higher Football IQ last year. I honestly think in a straight up QB battle, Glennon is beating out Geno. I'm not saying either of them are Franchise QBs, because I dont really see that in either of them yet. But at this moment in time I think Mike Glennon is easily better than Geno Smith.

Yay or Nay?
