A thought after day 2 of free agency.......

At first I was furious after the jets did very little in the first 2 days of free agency, despite a ton of money and some very reasonable contracts handed out that I know the jets could of matched or even topped. Then I started thinking on possible strategies Idzik is using to justify what I felt was a terrible first 2 days, and 1 made a lot of sense to me, and here it is: I think it's fair to say that the jets , no matter who they signed this off-season, can't realistically feel they are title contenders with the Broncos and the 2nd best team in the AFC in our on division. And especially sinse this is a QB league, and our biggest question mark is the QB position. So it got me thinking that perhaps Idzik is reluctant to spend all of our valuable cap space on players who might turn out to be rendered useless if Geno turns out to be a bust, therefore starting from square 1 with a new QB drafted next year. Maybe idzik is worried the jets will be stuck with a lot of good position players, but no QB in a league where 99% of teams win with good, if not great QB play, and when it takes another couple of years to groom a new QB, those position players will either be too old or in cap hell that we won't be able to sign skill players when we finally get a franchise QB Is it possible idzik will take a measured approach this year to not overspend, see if Geno can take the next step, and then look at the situation. If he is indeed the franchise QB he's looking for, he takes even more cap room into 2015 and then tries to put big guns on this team to try to make a run at a title. If geno is a bust, he can draft a QB next year and try to build a team with a more long term approach. Please as many serious responses as possible, I am really looking forward to opinions on this post......
