"Get in my way, umah kill you today." Word. I need some of that on my team. One of my favorite quotes from Collision Low Crossers is when Dennis Thurman said, "we need some gangsters out there." Its all well and good to have nice guys that do nice things and that look nice while they're saying nice words. I gets that. Its nice. But what I love about football is the violence. I like that people can get hurt. And I like guys that like to hurt people. Nothing dirty. It has to be good, wholesome hurting. But I like guys who do some hurting. Ugly guys that look mean and speak vulgarities. Scary guys that not only accept their scariness, but embrace it. Usually these guys have thick necks and scruffy cheeks and crazy eyes and giggle like sycophants after violent collisions. Usually they are linebackers. But not JC Copeland. JC Copeland eats linebackers.
I don't have any purty stats or purty highlights of Copeland for you. I also don't have any clips of him eloquently waxing poetic about his visitations to the homeless shelter to spoon out soup servings to the malnourished. Copeland is a football gangsta. He's a 6-1, 270 lbs violence seeking missile. He enters holes and if you get in his way, he's gonna kill you today. And like Drago, "vwhatever vhe hits, vhe destroys." Every team needs a gangsta. If your not wearing green, Copeland's gonna be "comin... comin atcha."
