Cuts:
- Mark Sanchez
- Santonio Holmes
- Antonio Cromartie
-
Kyle Wilson - improvement as a nickel back, but largely a disappointment. This one could go either way.
Free Agent Signings:
-
Jeremy Maclin (WR) - coming off the knee surgery, his price should be a little lower, but he definitely has potential as a number two option.
-
Jairus Byrd (FS) - Pro-Bowl, physical, ball-hawk free safety. This speaks for itself.
- Aqib Talib (CB) - physical corner, whose injury issues this season should bring his price down. I think he could be a great shutdown corner for the Jets and help give the secondary what was missing with Revis gone and Cromartie struggling.
Draft Targets:
- 1st Round: Jace Amaro (TE) - love this kid's makeup. He has the look of a dynamic playmaker, and he's definitely more developed as a route-runner and blocker than Ebron, IMO.
- 2nd Round: Kelvin Benjamin / Jordan Matthews (WR) - I'm all for doubling up on offense in the first two rounds. Getting Amaro in the 1st round and Benjamin here would give the Geno and the Jets a lot of big-bodied, capable options.
I elected just to go over the obvious cuts and the first couple of rounds. What do you all think?
