Rex Ryan is one of the greatest defensive coaches in the game today. However, he's the HC, and responsible for the entire team. Rex hasn't failed to crack the top 10 in defense every year as the coach of the Jets (#1,#3,#5,#8 respectively). He stated he sees a top 5 defense with this current unit this season, I believe him. With Rex installing the plays from day 1, and calling every defensive play this season, we can expect the best once again from a Rex Ryan defense. If this holds true, with Marty Mornhinweg, this could be a match made in New York Jets Heaven. Marty has demonstrated to be an exceptional play caller thus far, and capable of putting points on the scoreboard. No matter who's been under center during the preseason, the offense has moved the ball, even with a below average run game (mostly without Ivory & no Goodson). Despite the bad game against the Giants, I firmly believe Geno will not be a turnover machine like we've been accustomed to with Sanchez. Therefore, it's not unrealistic to believe this offense, under Marty's watch, can be 10 times better than the last 2 seasons. With that said, I highly anticipate to see how we will compete with the best this season. The animal in Rex still lives, and I believe he will prove the critics wrong this season, and win enough games to earn a contract extension.
