Chris Ivory's Propensity For Injury

I just read the link to NFL.com regarding Chris Ivory's hamstring injury and it seems that he will be unavailable for some time, leaving the Jets a bit thin at RB. I know that this is a continuation of the injury he suffered in training camp, but it seems that trading for him might not have been the best option at the time.

I know that he is a punishing runner, but there had to be a reason that he was a third option for the Saints. Also, from what I've read he had similar injury problems at New Orleans. I hope that this hamstring injury is just a blip on the radar and not a long-term problem.

I am not criticizing John Idzik for the deal, because Ivory is a powerful, smashing runner who would make our offense much better, but if he is going to be nicked up all the time it looks like it could turn out to be a bad deal.

I am curious about what running backs were still available when our fourth pick came up if we had kept it. It seems to me that a fairly good running back should have been there for us to pick and groom for the future. Correct me if i am wrong but didn't Green Bay pick Jonathan Franklin with a later pick that round 4 ?

Let's just hope that this injury isn't really long-term, because we could really use his talent. This is by no means a slap at Bilal Powell as he has shown surprising toughness and drive, but i think being able to get decent running back with the fourth pick might have been the way to go.

Please let me know your thoughts.
