As much as a lot of us don't like Mark Sanchez, that was really hard to see him get hurt. He looked like he was in a lot of pain. And if there is one thing you have to give Sanchez, hes extremely tough. Hes taken some brutal hits over the years and has gotten right back up, so if hes on the ground screaming, I'm gonna guess its something at least semi-serious. Im writing this at 5:30 AM, so by the time anyone reads this, I guess we will already know exactly what the injury is.
Even if it isn't that serious, I don't see him being ready to roll in 2 weeks. So 3 QBs left. I don't see McElroy as a capable starter. And Simms is very interesting, but I don't think it would make sense to start him over Geno. As bad as Geno was tonight, hes a rookie in essentially, his first real game. I say if Sanchez isn't ready to go, you have to let Geno start. Lets just pray he gets it together. If were picking between Geno, McElroy, and Simms, Geno has the most upside and we have to see if hes "Our guy". So as painful as he's making the decision, I don't think there is much, if any choice left.
As much as it may scare me after his performance tonight, you've got to give Geno the keys now. Let the kid drive.
