This is NOT A THREAD ABOUT THE CONTROVERSY.
This thread is PURELY about the NEW YORK JETS AND FOOTBALL. Please don't let it gear towards the controversy.
Through the entire Riley Cooper situation, it has just broke that the Eagles have excused him from "All Team Activities." Many reporters with inside knowledge, including ESPNs Ashley Fox, are saying its inevitable that he will be cut. I also think even though he was slated to take Jeremy Maclin's place, they have to cut him. He doesnt even have any friends on that team anymore. They said he stands by himself at practice. For his sake, the teams sake, and the sake of Chip Kellys first offeseason, I think they HAVE to cut him.
If Riley Cooper is cut (And I think he will be), would you like to see the Jets take a look at him?
My Case for Yes: I think he would immediately be one of the better receivers on our team. Hes got great size and good speed. Plus he fits the youth movement, being on 25 years old. He would upgrade one of our weakest, if not weakest, position.
My Case for No: That would draw alot of Drama to the Jets once again. And idk if Idzik is up for that. Football wise I dont think there is a downside though.
Honestly, I think he would fit in on this team. I think Rex understands his players and in general, understands people and players pretty well. I think he would find a way to get guys to get along. I honestly do not think there would be locker room issues. The Jets are the most hated team in the NFL, so its not like putting him on the team will hurt the teams image. But it WILL draw more media attention to us. I don't think anyone can argue Cooper would make this a better team, but is it worth all the drama? That's the real question, I guess.
