As we enter training camp, we have a bit of sad news. Conor Orr announced yesterday he is leaving the Jets beat at The Star-Ledger.
Head's up to all #Jets followers out there: As of today, I'm officially moving across town to cover the Giants. It's been an awesome 3 yrs..

Orr was widely regarded as the best beat writer the Jets had. He was thorough and in depth and chased substantive stories. He will be missed. The week after last season ended, when one particular beat writer claimed there was nothing to discuss other than Rex Ryan's tattoo, Orr was hard at work putting together profiles of general manager and offensive coordinator candidates, which seemed like relatively important topics.
Darryl Slater, who was previously a beat writer for the University of South Carolina, will take over the Jets beat at the Ledger. Hopefully he can maintain the high standard Orr and his predecessors have set.
