Jets' fans' obsession with Braylon Edwards is comparable to Penelope Taynt from the Amanda Show. My opinions on the matter are well documented, as I have written numerous posts showing my support in bringing him back.
Much like Favre Watch back in the old days, I'm initiating Braylon Watch - examining all of the latest stories surrounding the man, the myth, the beard, the legend - Braylon Jamel Edwards. We will see what evidence, if any, indicates when (not if, I pray) Edwards will reclaim his rightful place on the Jets roster. (Disclaimer: This is a parody, so put your knives and/or axes down before you hurt someone.)
So let's begin:
1. This morning David Vill mentioned in Flight Connections that Kellen Winslow, Jr, a former teammate of Edwards in Cleveland, Tweeted his support for Edwards returning yesterday at 6:23 PM with the hashtag "BringBraylonBack." 6 hours and 21 minutes later, Edwards replied with his thanks. Considering that Winslow is the Tight End of the Future for the Jets, it is obvious that his word will carry a lot of weight. Because if there's one thing Rex Ryan and John Idzik always take into account when deciding on talent, it's the opinions of offensive players with a history of injuries and no contract commitments or cap penalties.
2. On July 10th, Edwards hung out with future Jets starting QB Geno Smith in Florida. Coincidence? Most normal people would say yes, but as a Jets fan I'm calling conspiracy! Obviously Edwards is giving Smith much needed advice on how to hit a receiver in stride and let the ball slip through his hands, thus giving him a leg up when he and Sanchez compete in that skill drill.
Well that's all I have for now. Hopefully there won't be a next time because Edwards will have already signed with the team and we will be one step closer to that 13-win season we've all been anticipating.
Goodbye, and remember: Braylon Bless Us.
