Let me preface this by saying: I watch a good amount of College football. But I mainly only watch the marquee games. And while I know Oregon is one of the premiere teams, I find them almost SO GOOD that its uninteresting to watch. I like a good blowout every now and then, but a team winning by 50 points every game just losses its excitement after awhile. SO this means I did not really watch much Oregon football last year, and when I did, I was really only watching for Mariota (QB) and Lyola (TE).
NOW, we all know who Tavon Austin is, and I feel like he could end up being "The one who got away", this especailly rings true because he was picked directly before us and we almost gaurenteed would have selected him. It also seems like the use of fast slot recievers/gadget players is a quickly growing trend in the NFL. While Austin is labeled a WR and Thomas is Labeled a RB, I think theyre skill sets are almost identical. Austin probably has slightly better hands and Thomas probably is a more adept runner. Athletically I think they are almost identical. Same height, weight, I give a slight edge to Thomas on speed and a slight edge to Austin on quickness.
But my real question is, who do you think is better? Who do you think will be better in the NFL. AND if we were in a position in next years draft to draft Thomas in the 2nd round, would you take him? I think if Austin takes the league by storm like some are saying he will, we should follow the trend and get the player most like him. What do you guys think?
