A lot of people in the anti-Jets, pro-Tebow, anti-Rex media (Skip Bayless, still don't know why I watch First Take) say that we will be picking high in the draft next year, but I don't buy that belief. Our draft will allow us to keep a dominant defense. Also, our offense will be good because of Geno Smith. We will get to the playoffs because of our abilities as defensive unit.
Our calling card for the past few years has been the defense. Our 2 draft picks were both geared to strengthen this part of the team. With Sheldon Richardson, our D-line will get 40+ sacks and be great against the run. Dee Milliner will make our secondary as good as any other in the NFL. Demario Davis and David Harris will form a solid LB corps. We will have the best defense in the AFC East.
Geno Smith will be our starting QB this season and this means many good things for our offense. Rookie mobile QBs have had a great amount of success as of late (RG3, Vince Young (Pro Bowl), Russell Wilson, Michael Vick, and Cam Newton). Our wide receivers are very good, with Kerley, Holmes, Cumberland, and Hill are being potentially very impactful players. On the offensive line we are going to be great. We are set at tackle and center and we have a starting guard in Winters. We should be able to run the ball because the option and Chris Ivory. We should average more than 3 TDs a game on offense. I predict that we go 10-6.
Edit: Even I think that this is a bit optimistic, but I don't think that we are going be a really bad team. In Rex, or Idzik, we Trust.
