first, I've never been in an NFL locker room, never mind all the practices BUT
to me the 4 -3 D' is a better base. I consider the requirements of a good nose T. to be such it's very hard to find, one of the hardest positions to fill - a very large, strong, agile side to side AND durable guy.
then there is the philosophy , I gather it's common that a 3 -4 lineman's expected to occupy the O' line thus freeing up the 'backers to make plays.
What's the point of drafting D.E. in the first rnd IF they're expected to mostly be blockers, in effect ? I say, play 4 -3 and EXPECT Wilk & Coples to be primary playmakers.
