The chances of Geno Smith falling to the Jets

With the draft approaching and the Jets' current quarterback situation, Let's go over the Jet's landing the #1 quarterback in the draft by going over every team before them's chances of passing on him.

Kansas City Chiefs.) They recently traded for Alex Smith, and with a pressing need at the offensive line, Luke Joeckel seems to be a lock for the first overall pick.

Jacksonville Jaguars.) New General Manager Dave Caldwell stated that Blaine Gabbert will be given another shot this year to prove himself as the franchise quarterback and that the team will build around him. If Blaine Gabbert has a good third year, the Jaguars will stick with him. If not they'll take a franchise quarterback in next years draffwith more talented passers coming out.

Oakland Raiders.) They just acquired Matt Flynn from the Seahawks and probably won't to use the third overall pick to create a quarterback competition with so many other needs.

Philidelphia Eagles.) It seems that the Eagles and Ej Manuel have developed a very good relationship and EJ Manuel has even stated that he wants to be an Eagle. In addition, with both of their starting cornerbacks gone, the Eagles should take the best cornerback on the board with their first pick.

Detroit Lions.) Matt Stafford...nuff said.

Cleveland Browns.) They may be reluctant to select a quarterback in the first round after selecting Brandon Weeden with the 22nd pick last year.

Arizona Cardinals.) They stated that they will not be selecting a quarterback with the seventh pick and just got Carson Palmer.

Buffalo Bills.) Traded for Kevin Kolb and may want to bring in some competition but it seems unlikely for the Bills to select a quarterback in the first round.

It seems that the only teams before the Jets that may take Geno Smith are the Philidelphia Eagles and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

If Geno Smith does fall to the Jets, I'm sure many fans would like to see them take him but I would rather them take a pass rusher or trade down and try to get either Tyler Eiffert or a top wide receiver. They can address the quarterback situation next year with Bridgewater and Manziel likely to declare for the draft.
