Ok well the draft was decent. We got a QB (Which i'm not super excited about, just indifferent) and the best CB in the draft. I was cool with that. But I really really REALLY think the Richardson pick was HORRIBLE. We should have traded that pick down for one, and why didn't we just draft Eifert at #13? He was the best weapon on the board. Heck, I would have drafted Cordarelle Patterson over Richardson!!! Who cares if he ends up being a beast, he plays a position where he wont even fit into the lineup.
You pick a QB that you THINK is your future and you don't give him any weapons to work with. He has ONE Tight end that's just decent. 2 good WRs, but one of them is hurt, and is dealing with an injury more serious than people think. Then another WR that's insanely athletic but couldn't catch a ball to save his life. I like how people are just assuming Stephen Hill is going to turn into Megatron next year. Even if he does get better, It will be a slight improvement I think. We had so many opportunities to get weapons and we just passed it up. Eifert at #13. And the one that KILLED me, PASSING ON KEENAN ALLEN in the 3rd round. My jaw hit the floor.
Yea i know, "whats the point of having weapons if the QB doesn't even have time to throw." Well whats the point if he has all the time in the world to throw and nobody to throw to!!! What is Holmes DOESN'T come back right, what if Stephen Hill DOESN'T take a huge leap? Then where are we at? I'm not even saying it for the purpose of winning games. I'm afraid for Geno. If you put him in a situation like that where he has no weapons, you will stunt his growth. I'm not a Sanchez sympathizer but that's exactly what we did to him. Sanchez was never going to be a franchise QB, but he would be MUCH BETTER than he is now if the FO had just HELPED HIM.
They did nothing to help Geno this weekend. I just don't wanna see this dude get thrown into the fire like that. Can anyone think of ANY type if solution for the lack of offensive play-makers?
