Okay so I was up last night writing this trying to predict what would happen. But then I though, thats impossible! With the trades we will try and all of our needs it cant be done. So here is what I WANT TO HAPPEN!
Pick #9- Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia
Pick #13- Trade to San Fran for Picks #31, #34
Pick #31- Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
Pick #34- Arthur Brown, OLB, Kansas
Pick #39- Larry Warford, OG, Kentucky
Pick #72- Baccari Rambo, FS, Georgia
Pick #106- Tyrann Mathiue, CB, LSU
Pick #141- Traded to NO for RB Chris Ivory
Pick #178- Sean Renfree, QB, Duke
Pick #215- Marcus Davis, WR, Virginia Tech
I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to pick Matt Barkley with the #34 pick but I knew the defense would suffer if we used the entire first 2 rounds on Offense. To me the value of getting a guy in the 2nd round, who in his last 2 years, threw 75 TDs and 22 Picks is just a no brainier. And I really do think our defense would still be okay, but it wouldn't be dominant, so ill stick with Arthur Brown.
Austin and Eifert would immediately inject our offense with Big play ability. Austin can score every time he touches the ball and Eifert is a wizard with contested catches, plus he can block. Warford would give us one of the better O-Lines to protect whoever is under center for years to come.
Rambo is an absolute ball-hawk which would match well with D Landry in the box style of play. 1 Safety to stop the run, 1 safety to wreak havoc in the passing game. Tyrann Mathiue is a big time playmaker and a solid corner, we should at least get another corner to fill the empty spot on the roster. Plus he could return punts/kickoffs since I think Kerley is too important to the offense to be doing it.
Sean Renfree was coached up by the same guy wo coached up the manning brothers and if you watch the tape, his team at Duke is HORRENDOUS, so maybe if he was on a better team, who know? Big time sleeper. And Santonio Holmes will most likely be cut after this season, so might as well bring in someone who can learn for a season then take his spot in Marcus Davis. Very talented but under the radar receiver.
