K. So I we are somewhat the laughing stock of the league (Even though I really think i could name 10 teams worse than us. Alot of outsiders are saying we we going to go 4-12. Even alot of Fans have been saying things like 1-15 or 3-13. I just do not see that AT ALL. We WILL NOT MAKE the Playoffs. And it sounds sacrilegious to say but i HOPE WE DONT make the playoffs. Unless what ever QB we draft this year turns out to be pretty good, I hope we have a Top 5 pick next year so we can get Manziel/Bridgewater/Murray. Even though, even if we finished with the 14th pick, we could always just trade up to get one of the 3.
But back to my point. Lets assume we get Chris Ivory. That gives us Goodson McKnight Powell and Ivory. That's a heck of a committee. TO OUR KNOWLEDGE none of them stand out but together they can be really good. We could use Goodson and Powell in the first half and then Ivory and Mcknight in the 2nd half once they are worn down to finish them off. Also, we'll have Kerley, Hill, Holmes, and a WR drafted in the first 3 rounds (If I had it my way it would be Tavon Austin). We'll also have drafted an OLB in either the 1st or 2nd round and got a Guard in the 1st or 2nd round to retool the Offensive Line. (This is assuming we trade Revis.) Also it seems predetermined that we will draft Tyler Eiffert or Zach Ertz. It looks like Idzik really likes the idea of drafting an elite TE. So with the offense almost completely retooled, and the Defense will also have a few new pieces. After the draft with a new OLB, Safety and Corner, im sure Rex will be able to manage a Top 10 Spot. And with a completely retooled offense, EVEN WITH SANCHEZ under center, I think the offense will at least be DECENT. That even gets better if we draft a QB and he ends up beating Sanchez in camp.
I don't think I'm being overly optimistic at all. It just makes sense to me. With the High picks we have and presumably the ones we will acquire, as bad as we were last year, I just don't see us going 2-14 like everyone is saying.
What do you guys think?
