As a JETS fan, I think we take advantage of a few things that have occurred and are apparently clear going into this season:
1) The Patriots got seriously weaker: I would not underestimate the loss of Welker and the lack of playmakers on the D-Line and back 7.
2) Revis is gone: I'm saddened but I understand.
3) No one is giving us a chance: There is a very wide perception that anything we will do via the draft or FA will be futile and we will be horrible. This will lead to the eventual firing of Rex Ryan and Woody cleaning house.
Izdik has made some good moves and is creating value throughout the roster. I think we can at the very least compete for a wild card slot. The theme of this draft is to create a core of versatile and explosive players while filling positional needs and depth. So let me shut up and start mocking.
1st Round: #9: Ansah, can play all over the line and OLB need ; TE #13: Eiffert, all around TE and can catch
ALT: Mingo and Austin; Mingo is just as athletic as any of the top OLB/DE's , Austin is explosive with WR, RB, RET versatility
2nd Round: #38: Pugh, can play both G & T; Would love either Watson or Warford, Ertz a possibility if Eiffert taken
3rd Round: #72: Jones, can play C & G depth; #73, Thomas FS
4th Round: #106: Washington, can play DE/OLB
5th Round: #141 #178 Robinson, Another athletic and versatile player who can play WR, RB, QB & ST
6th Round: #178 & 7th Round: #215 TRADE FOR CHRIS IVORY
We have filled out our roster with depth, versatility and need as well as a ton of playmaking ability.
