Do you think Tavon Austin is Big Enough to Play WR in the NFL?

I am one of the fans that would really not be opposed to spending our #9 pick on Austin. I understand his value would be better at #13 (If we get it), but I really think its almost a certainty we trade that pick down if we get it. I feel like he is the best offensive weapon in this draft and he is an extremely rare athlete.

BUT, it seems like his size has come into question. Some say he will never be more that a return specialist. Yes he is small but here are my arguments in favor of Austin.

1. College and NFL "Height" is about the same. College players range from 19-23. Most men have gotten about as tall as they will by that time in their lives. So really the height of the defenders he played in college and will play in the NFL wont really change. NFL players aren't really taller, just heavier and stronger.

2. Steve Smith is 5"9 & 195 lbs. Tavon Austin is 5"8 & 175 lbs. Were talking about ONE INCH!!! I think after a year in an NFL training program, Austin will easily pick 10-15 pounds. I really think he will be like 180-185 by September really. Plus Austin is faster and quicker than Steve Smith. Steve Smith is a Hall Of Famer!!! And because Austin is ONE INCH shorter, he wont make it in the NFL!? I don't get that at all.

What do you guts think?
