Brian Costello reports the Jets have not been clear with the rest of the league exactly what they want for Darrelle Revis.
According to league sources, Idzik has not been clear with what he wants exactly in return for Revis. The Post reported earlier this week that Tampa Bay was losing patience with the Jets as negotiations have stalled.
This is the kind of report that is going to be easy to take out of context. I am sure we will hear cracks about the Jets being in disarray from the usual suspects.
What it really says to me is the word from people like Costello and Cimini has been right. They have been preaching that the Jets are in no rush to deal Revis and are willing to let this play out a bit unless they get an unbelievably good offer. Right now they are seeing who really wants him and what they are willing to offer.
No matter what, there is probably going to be a market for Revis once he is placed on the trade block. The Buccaneers have little recourse but to wait right now. Threatening to sign Brent Grimes isn't much of a threat. John Idzik can wait for more bidders right now.
