Whats up guys, it has been awhile since I have posted anything, but I have been here in the shadows in the meantime. I'll get right to it though. I like that the Jets have signed David Garrad. I believe that he will win the starting job over sanchez, and he can't be that much worse than Sanchez was this past season.(I hope) Mostly though, the signing of Garrad tells me that the front office is MUCH better than it was under Tannenbum, if only because this signing tells me that the Jets will not go after a QB in the first 4 or 5 rounds of the 2013 draft, I hope I'm right. I believe like many, that at least 95% of the QBs in this draft are destined to be backups at best, and out of the NFL within 3 years for most. Yes I understand that our cap situation is dreadful, one of many reasons that Tannenbum was fired, the main one I believe to be not only that he couldn't find a solution at QB, but that he paid the dreadful Sanchez an incredibly bad contract extension. Seriously, I don't understand how he justified that, maybe Sanchez hired a hitman or two to threaten tannenbaum into doing it. Say what u want about Sanchez's first 2 years, but that wasn't him, it was the team that got the Jets to back to back championship games. Honestly, even after the 2010 season, I saw Sanchez as a Alex Smith type QB at best, just a guy to "not get in the way" and tannenbum goes and makes him like a top 10 paid QB in the NFL. What a joke. On another note, I think that we should trade revis to the bucs, or whoever will give the Jets the most ammo in the 2014 draft. I want the Jets to get as much as they can for the 2014 draft, even if it means us getting killed in the 2013 one (for the most part) Don't get me wrong, I want the Jets to take either Dion Jordan, Ansah, or Jarvis Jones with the no 9 pick in this years draft. My ideal situation though, and what I believe will eventually be the (push us over the top) moves will be to do everything the Jets can to get in the top 5 twice..yes twice in the 2014 draft. I want the Jets to get their Franchise QB in the 2014 draft, either bridgewater or Manziel, or whoever separates himself from the pack, but I also want Jadevon Clowney to be a Jet. And would be happy with the Jets doing whatever they can to get Clowney, even if it means giving up on getting Bridgewater or Manziel. Now I know I might get killed for saying this, but Stever Spurrier said that Clowney was NFL ready coming out of high school. The kid is a MONSTER, I mean he is impossible to single block always, and the only way u really can block him for sure is to put 3 OL on him, can u imagine what that would do for the Jets? Some will say that we already have Wilk, and Coples, and hopefully Dion Jordan, or Jones, or Ansah, but just imagine for a minute, what kind of Defense the Jets would have with those guys, Picture a DL with Wilk, Coples, Ellis, and Clowney, or say we are in 3-4 and u have wilk and coples at DE, and OLB are Clowney and Jordan or Jarvis Jones. As Mike Mayock would say, ARE U KIDDING ME. What kind of OL can block that front? It would give teams, especially the offensive side nightmares. Every team in the league would fear the Jets. The Jets would most likely surpass the 00 Ravens or 85 bears as the greatest D of all time. Seriously, look at what the Giants did the the Pats in that first superbowl against arguably the greatest Offense of all time in the NFL. Brady to moss killed teams all year, but in that superbowl they only had 1 td. Yes I understand that the Jets need to be able to score, and I may be biased a little being that I love good Defenses better than good offenses. I get it, I really do that we need a Franchise QB. maybe I'm alone in this belief but I'd be okay with waiting another year or so to get that QB when I think about having Wilk, Coples, Ellis, Clowney, and Dion Jordan in the Jets front 7 that too me, would be insane...seriously INSANE. I get that we need to score, but if the other team cant keep their QB up long enough to throw, how many points are the Jets really going to need? I mean, how much did Tom Brady's greatness help the Patriots in that first superbowl? U tell me?
