Brian Costello reports the Jets are looking into a couple of wide receivers.

Jets have interest in Rams FA WR Brandon Gibson, according to a source #nyj

Jets have also told free agent WR Braylon Edwards they have interest in re-signing him, but it sounds like they will explore options first.

Presumably one of those options would be Gibson.

I can't say I would be wild about signing either player. There really isn't anything that sticks out about Gibson's game that leads me to believe he will be more than the 51 catch, 691 yard guy he was this year. Edwards is a shell of the player he used to be. His production in his return to the Jets was about in line with what they got from Chaz Schilens and Clyde Gates.

I think the Jets should look to add players they can build around in the long term or young guys who have something about them that says they have big time potential. Neither of these guys really fits the bill.
