Jets Mock 2013 Offseason 1.0

Free Agency:

  • RT Andre Smith: Smith hasn't quite lived up to expectation so the Bengals don't really need to resign him. Smith is a decent tackle who won't cost a lot. Which will make him a perfect fit for the green and white.
  • TE Delanie Walker: Delanie has always been overshadowed by Vernon Davis. He is a fast receiver at the tight end position with a nice pair of hand. This will not cost the jets a lot because Delanie is still trying to prove that he can be a starting tight end in this league.
  • QB Matt Flynn: After losing a chance to start in Seattle to Rookie Russell Wilson, I doubt Matt will receive big bucks anywhere. He will give Mark Sanchez a run for his money and his starting job at QB.
  • WR Danny Amendola: A great route runner who can be a nice target to whoever is at quarterback.
Re-signings
  • LaRon Landry: I know he won't come cheap but the jets need to keep the secondary intact.
  • Braylon Edwards: Edwards played well for the jets when he was signed. He will come cheap.
  • Matt Slauson: The jets wont be able to find another guard to replace him, so they need to resign him
Cuts
  • Bart Scott: All talk and no play. simply the jets can do better without him on and off the field (financial wise).
  • Tim Tebow: To me he was a mistake to get traded here and was a distraction who rarely played or produced
  • Calvin Pace: The jets need to find a dominate pass rusher and Calvin makes to much to not produce.
  • Jason Smith: Get rid of him the jets shouldn't of even traded for him at the money he is making and plus he is not even that good.
Trades
  • Trade Santonio Holmes for a 3rd and 6th round pick. Santonio got hurt and even when we wasn't he still wasn't the impact player the Jets need.
  • Trade Antonio Cromartie and a 2014 5th round pick for Percy Harvin. Who doesn't even want to be there so the vikings should get something for now rather than never.
2013 Jets Mock draft .
This Draft is probably the only mock draft without the Jets taking a QB. I just don't think there are real depth and talent there. I think the jets should surround as much talent around mark Sanchez. And if he doesn't produce than don't extend his contract, which is up next season and draft Johnny Manziel.
  • Round 1: Ezekiel Ansah Outside Linebacker BYU. Ansah is a incredible athlete who can be a steal.
  • Round 2: Eddie Lacy a tough running back from Alabama who has a incredible spin move. He is a strong back who is probably the best out of all the RB prospects at pushing the pile.
  • Round 3: Cobi Hamilton had a extraordinary season for Arkansas totaling 90 receptions for 1,335 yards.
  • Round 3: Larry Warford is a nice guard from Kentucky who was there only bright spot through there season. A good run and pass blocker.
  • Round 4: Tyrann Mathieu in my mind he is the best corner in this draft but he had off the field problems which will cause him to get draft low.
  • Round 5 : Kenjon Barner : the jets lack speed and explosiveness in the air and ground. He can provide both out the back field.
  • Round 5: Josh Boyce is a solid receiver to be drafted at this point and can be the next Jeremy Kerley.
  • Round 6: Joesph Fauria is a good red zone tight end who can be a replacement for Dustin Keller in the future.
  • Round 7: Brandon Williams is a was a consistent pass rusher from the DT spot from southern Missouri
