He's turning 32 and expected to earn about $2M next year but the Pats might let him walk. He was on a 3 year, $12M contract which is still a good contract despite his age. He was the #2 WR for the Pats in yards so despite the fact that he has a great QB he is still a good WR. I can safely say he's better than Holmes. I found a good article on NFL.com but lost it but I'll post another one.
If he would want want to come here, he could come relatively cheap and may even take a more back-loaded contract or one with bonuses. His current contract is a back-loaded one ($900,000 in 2012, $1.9M in 2013, and $2.9M in 2014--> all of these have bonuses attached to them). I could see a similar contract of 3 year, $12M which would be about $4M per year (for those who can't do third grade math). We wouldn't be able to pay him $4M this year but could pay something like $6M next year with a few million (NOT A LOT) guaranteed to entice him to accept the deal. I really hope he didn't just take a smaller contract because he got to play with the Pats.
i don't know anything about his character though so I can't make that kind of judgement.
Plus, he is ridiculously photogenic http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/the91stminute/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Lloyd.jpg
Just look at that smile.
