An Idzik Mock Offseason

My take on how the jets should approach the offseason. I did my best with all the signing numbers not sure how accurate they potentially are.

Cut:

Mark Sanchez (8.3 million)

Santonio Holmes (8.25 million)

Antonio Cromartie (9.5 million)

Mike Goodson (1.3 million)

Clyde Gates (600k)

Dawan Landry (1.5million)

Alex Green (600k)

Resign:

Austin Howard (3 years 10 million)

Leger Douzable (2 years 2 million)

Willie Colon (1 year 1 million)

Darrin Walls

Nick Bellore

Nick Folk (2 years 3 million)

Extend:

Muhammad Wilkerson (6 years 60 million)

Free Agency:

Jarius Byrd (5 years 40 million..20 garunteed)

Idzik wants to build through the draft but its worth it when your getting a legitimate top 5 player at his position. Hes still young enough and would help us with our turnover deficiencies.

Jeremy Maclin ( 3 years 15 million)

Reunites with marty and idziks not afraid to take injury risks. I think hes rock solid #2 and head and shoulders above any other reciever we have.

Jason Worilds ( 3 years 13 million)

Young athletic OLB to replace our beloved calvin pace. with our DL dominating fronts hes a great fit to come blazing around the edge

Shaun Hill (2 years 4 million)

legitimate backup QB i wouldn't cringe at seeing come in if Geno blows up next year.

Garret Graham (3 years 7 million)

The second best TE named Graham, he did a good job replacing owen daniels solid te with reliable hands and blocking.

Richard Marshall (1 year 1 million)

Another CB

Kevin Boothe ( 1 year 1.5 million)

Another Guard

Draft:

With the Rams, Packers, and Cowboys all looking at CBs, the Chargers swap picks with us to take Darquenze Dennard. We pick up a 4th round pick this year and a 4th 2015.

RD1. Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans were already off the board when we traded down, so we turn our attention to TE and select Eric Ebron. Not as tall as Amaro or ASJ but the most athletic. too big for safeties and way too fast for linebackers.

RD2. Now we need an outside threat and we select Jordan Matthews. A true 6'3", dominating the SEC with poor quarterback play and not much else around him.

RD3. EJ Gaines. We stay true to BPA. He shutdown Mike Evans a few weeks ago.

RD3. Zack Martin. OG that can pass block. Competes with winters/boothe for starting spot

RD4. Marion Grice/ De'anthony Thomas. Obviously Thomas is electric but undersized and who knows where he goes. Grice is also great catching passes out of the backfield and our O badly needs that

RD4. Devante Parker. talented reciever from Louisville. competition at wr 4 and 5.

RD5. Aaron Murray. Give him a chance to grow on the bench and see what happens down the road.

Im sure we'll have a few supplemental picks too plus rounds 6 and 7 but its too early to speculate who we might draft there. That is alot of picks and shouldnt be overlooked we could find some real contributors with those.

I think this would give us a fresh offense to work with and add some talent to the defense. Set us up to give Geno a fair shot.
