Rex Ryan on Geno Smith: "Right now, I would feel that he gives us the best chance to win."— Bob Glauber (@BobGlauber) November 25, 2013
I think we have all seen enough of the phrase, "best chance to win," for this lifetime.
In this case, though, I do tend to agree with the decision. Geno is playing pretty terrible football, but I tend to think the odds of him turning things around are higher than Matt Simms playing quality football in a meaningful setting for the first time since high school or David Garrard shaking off three years of rust. While Geno has not been great to say the least, we at least still have seen stretches of credible play. Plus this will be a test of whether he can get himself out of a slump.
It seems like the least bad option right now.
