With the exception of Chris Ivory, last week was rough for the fantasy value of all New York Jets players. Even Mr. Consistency, Nick Folk, missed a field goal. If the season long trend continues this week, then the GOOD Jets team will take on the Baltimore Ravens at 1 pm, Sunday. Let's talk some fantasy football:
|Team||Rushing/Gm||Passing/Gm||Pts. v. QB||Pts. v. RB||Pts. v. WR||Pts. v. TE||Pts. v. D/ST|
Start: RB Chris Ivory, WR Santonio Holmes/David Nelson, Jets D/ST
Sit: QB Geno Smith, WR Stephen Hill/Greg Salas, Jets TE's
From this point forward, going to base my start/sits based on my gut feelings. Chris Ivory had a good game last week, thanks in part to a 69 yard run. Chances are some of you may have to start him this week, due to the byes of Lynch and McCoy. As of this writing, Ravens NT Haloti Ngata has not practiced all week, making him very doubtful for Sunday's game. If he plays or not, the Jets will more than likely turn to Ivory to help keep pressure off of Smith. So start Ivory. Kerley may return on Sunday and if he does, it will make Holmes life easier. Stephen Hill is going to see a reduced role in the offense going forward, the main benefactor will be David Nelson. Nelson is as sure handed as they get and Smith looks for him when he's in trouble. The Jets D got blasted last week, when I thought they would have a good game. I have a feeling they bounce back this week, play more Cover 2 man and take away the long ball. Ravens will not be able to run, and Flacco likes to put it up for grabs. Start the Jets D if you got 'em
Something new I'm adding is experts ranks of Jets players. So it's my gut versus the experts:
Good luck to everyone and remember you can ask me questions on twitter !
