Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson sustained a groin injury yesterday against the Steelers. His status for Sunday's game against the Jets is up in the air.
When asked about his chances of playing on Sunday, Johnson felt it was too early in the week to make a call on it.
"I’ve got to get more work done," said Johnson. "I just don’t know right now. I’ve got to get more work done and we’ll figure out later on in the week."
Johnson leads the Bills with 41 receptions, 471 yards, and 3 touchdowns. For a Buffalo offense struggling to move the football through the air even with EJ Manuel back, losing Johnson would be a very difficult blow. The rookie leaned on Johnson in his return yesterday to the tune of a team-leading 10 targets. Even if Johnson plays and is compromised, it would be a tough break for the Bills.
