In the wake of today's call in overtime of the Jets' win over the Patriots, some have taken to criticizing the officials. You might wonder what a former Vice President of Officiating in the National Football League thinks. You can see below.
That is correct call in NE/NYJ game. New rule this year can't push a teammate into the offensive formation on a field goal or try attempt.— Mike Pereira (@MikePereira) October 20, 2013
We can argue whether or not this is a good rule, but that is not the point here. The point is that IS the rule, and since it is the rule, it should be called.
You might call me biased. You might say I would be signing a different tune if that call went against the Jets so don't take my word for it. Just ask a former National Football League Vice President of Officiating what he thinks.
