Dave Caldwell has removed his name from the running for the Jets general manager job per Jay Glazer.

Caldwell has already informed the Jets he's pulled his name out of their search as he is negotiating w Jaguars after they tabbed him

There goes that. Caldwell was clearly using the Jets as leverage to try and get more money out of Jacksonville. So uh, yeah, enjoy Jacksonville I guess, Caldwell. Have fun with Tebow.

I guess the real question is how much if at all the Jets were using Caldwell as leverage on Tom Gamble.

That leaves Tom Gamble, Marc Ross, and (gulp) Scott Cohen as candidates the Jets have interviewed. We will have to wait and see how this plays out. Will the Jets widen their search? Without any sort of inside information, my guess is the Jets are going to go with Gamble. How quickly this search will conclude is anybody's guess.
