First and foremost, I Love the Jets and I also think that the hire of Idzik, Marty, and firing D Gugliemo (whatever) you know who, have been a move in the right direction.
I already hear rumblings that fans are starting to question Idzik and the Revis trade rumors. I also think Revis is a once in a lifetime player yet; with that said Revis is more like Mevis when it comes to the money. A bunch of you have posted about the Jets cap problems. Are the Jets to pay Revis the same as a top flight QB or WR like a Calvin Johnson or Tom Brady.
Why not trade him and get 1st and 3rd plus a player for him? The Jets D was the #2 pass D this year without him. This coming year the D can even be better since Wilson has got more #2 time as well as some others will have had some more time to develop like Allen, Bush, Berry, Fletcher, and Walls whom all played this year. The coaching tandem of Thurman and McDonald will get these players ready to play at a high level.
The other thing is that the DL will have more experience and Ellis and Quinton will be that much better and on the field that much more. With a few extra Draft Picks the Jets get a PR OLB/DE and maybe could sign a Connor Barwin. Then the Jets may be forcing the opposing QB's to throw earlier then they want to. What does that have to do with trading Revis well no time to throw equals to INT's and more incomplete passes which makes it easier to cover for a CB.
I say we just remember that I over E, not emotion first. It's a business and sometimes you have to do things that are not well liked. Look at Jobs, Gates, and Trump not very well liked people yet very successful.
Some of the teams that have crazy Al Davis RIP owners, how about JJ down in Dallas, maybe Tenn.or J.Vill.
