Jason LaCanfora says the Jets will have a new general manager by Thursday.

The New York Jets plan to name a new general manager by Thursday, according to league sources, with finalists wrapping up their interviews on Wednesday.

I am sure many will welcome this news. It has been a long and stressful search. Nobody can accuse the Jets of not being thorough. Now they need to make the right hire.

The timing of this seems correct. It is good the team is taking its time to make sure to find the best candidate, but we are getting close to the time a new guy needs to be in place. Anybody other than the candidates familiar with people in the front office like Scott Cohen or Brian Gaine probably wants to clean house. We are getting close to the time of the year when the best people making moves are going to find new jobs.
