Everybody, COOL YOUR JETS.

First thing I'm going to say is this:

I'm angry we lost.

I hate watching my Jets lose, it ruins my Sundays, and makes me a very irritable person. I wanted the Jets to show up the rest of the haters, and prove that they are a legitimate team that can go deep into the playoffs.

The second thing I'm going to say is this:

Nothing I saw today disproves that notion. Yeah, yeah, flame shield activated. I know about half of the people who were reading this just closed out; that's fine, you're entitled to your own opinion, but let me say this:

Cool. Your. Jets.

Seriously. Its week 2. Remember where we were after week 2 last season? We had just smoked the Jaguars, and looked poised for another run to the AFC Championship Game or beyond. Where did we end up? As the laughing stock of the league. One thing we have to remember is this: That this 2012 Jet team is many times more talented than the 2011 team. Alot. More. Talented.

What happened today? We played the Pittsburgh Steelers, in Pittsburgh, during their home opener, and got beat down, something that many of us expected to happen. I understand being disappointed, especially after that first wonderful drive, but look at this thing with some perspective, people. Last week we saw the Jets play excellently in all three phases, and as a result we laid a butt-whooping on the Bills. Sanchez had plenty of time to throw, the receivers were getting open, the defense was creating turnovers, and special teams was giving us great field position.

What happened today?

1) Sanchez did not have nearly as much time to throw.

2) Our wide receivers could not separate

3) Our defense could not get off the field on third down

4) Our special teams laid an egg (I'm looking at you, Mr. Kerley)

So, whereas last week we played so well in all three phases, today we played like crap in all three phases. Things like this are going to happen, when you are playing the Steelers, in Pittsburgh, during their home opener, after a bad loss on Sunday Night Football.

Once again, I reiterate: Cool. Your. Jets.

We have 14 more games to go. Guess what? There are going to be games like today, where we get smacked around (49ers game, anyone?) and there are going to be games where we look like we did against the Bills (prepare yourself, Miami).

My point is, relax. Ok? Yeah, today sucked. I'm mad about it, but dont start screaming for Rex's head, dont start throwing players under the bus. These things happen. Look at the Patriots, they lost to the freakin' Cardinals at home. Come on people.

And one more thing, don't even think about pinning this on Sanchez. I refuse to turn on ESPN2 tomorrow for any reason, just because I know Skip Bayless is going to use Tebow's 22 yard run as a reason for which Sanchez should be benched. Today, his receiver's failed to get open, and more importantly failed catch the ball. His line was not sharp, the offense could not execute any hot reads, and he was forced to stay on the bench for extended periods of time because the defense could not get off the field. No, I am not saying Sanchez had a great game, because he didnt, but he certainly was NOT why we lost today.

Thanks, and goodnight ladies and gentlemen. This is my first time writing for GGN, and if this receives some decent feedback I'll think about doing it again.
