Don't do it Rex. Don't... do it.

We know that you're life's work is putting together the baddest defense thats ever touched cleats to the turf. We know that you want your team to be the king bully. We know that you would love nothing more than to go into Pittsburgh and thump the Steelers with your defense and show the world that the stingiest, most physical defense has that Jets decal on the side of their helmets. But don't do it. Don't do it Rex.

Its time to be a real head coach. Its time to drop that Baltimore mentality and really, truelly, fully invest in being a New Yorker. Its time to put on your big boy pants and do whats best for the team and not try to prove something to the doubters. Don't be influenced by external perceptions. Put the team first and your ego in the background. The team first.

Rest Revis for the nest 2 weeks. The last thing we need is for Revis to go out there and get dinged and to miss the next two months, or God forbid worse, and never be the same for the rest of the year. Galvinize your team to take on the challenge of beating the Steelers in Pittsburgh. We should be able to beat the Dolphins without him and we can go into the 49ers game without worry that he will be fully healthy. Put the onus on your OFFENSE to win in Pittsburgh. Challenge them. Instill an attack mentality. Tell them that we will go into enemy territory and we will go in guns ablazin. Show the world that you're a football coach and not a defensive coordinator dressed in a head coach's clothes. Challenge you're offense to attack the Pittsburgh defense. Even if we fall short, that mentality, that confidence in them, that whole team first belief will pay huge dividends. Challenge your defense to play at a high level without our best player. There's no guaranty that he will be healthy for the playoffs. We can't just fold up shop if we don't have him. They have to be good without him. The safeties have to play disciplined. Backups have to step up. D-linemen have to win assignments. The reward for competing with the Steelers is not worth the risk of losing Revis for an extended period of time.

Don't do it Rex. Don't play him. Don't get caught up in that Baltimore mentality. Don't play the defense game. Be smart. Rest Revis. Show the offense that they matter to this team too.
