Ground and Pound Could Use Some Blount Force Trauma

2011 LeGarrette Blount Highlights (via jjesse1978)

6-0, 247
2010: 201 carries, 1007 yards (5 yrds per)
2011: 184/781 (4.2 per)

I've been a fan of this guy since he came into the league out of Oregon. He's a big guy with great feet and he makes plays. He can carry a team at times. I love the way he runs. Granted, I don't watch him every week so I'm sure there's flaws. But I've always thought he'd be a good fit here, and I really hoped we'd draft him back in 2010. Well maybe now he can be had.

The Bucs just named Doug Martin the starter, so maybe they'd be open to trade. I haven't really spent much thought on what he would cost, but I can't imagine it would be too expensive since he's a back-up. He'd be an upgrade over Greene and would start here immediately, I think.

Blount has the ability to make people miss in the hole, and the ability to avoid contact at the second level. And he has the overwhelming power to push through contact when he does meet it. I also think he'd make an incredible pair with Terrance Ganaway, who also has great size and really good feet (6-0, 245). Those two could really breathe life into Ground and Pound. I'm not a big believer in either Greene or Powell and wouldn't at all mind bidding either/both adieu.
