Rex Ryan has confirmed that Tim Tebow along with Mark Sanchez and the rest of the starters will sit out the 4th pre-season game against the Eagles. This means that in Philly we will see a heavy dose of Matt Simms and Greg McElroy.
However a lot of people are not too happy that Tim Tebow the back-up is being rested like a starter. The argument is made that Tim is a back-up QB and as such should be treated like every back-up QB in the league, and play the 4th game.
Of course Tim Tebow is not like most NFL back-up quarterbacks. Before I say this I just want to make it clear that I think Tim should play the 4th pre-season game. He's tough as nails and is not prone to injury and lets be honest, he ould really do with the reps at Quarterbak.
However we cannot ignore the fact that unlike most back-ups in the league, Tim Tebow will take snaps in every game this season. It's likely in my mind that he will take 10-12 snaps a game so as such he does need to be protected to an extent.
The Jets have taken some heat this off-season for how they have treated Tim as a starter with coverage, press conference and now sitting out with the starters. I can see the argument both ways, for him to play and for him to sit. What do you think Gang Green Nation?
