Dang... I forgot all about Kyle Wilson

Stay connected for news and updates

But this article in the Post reminded me. I guess I got caught up in the hoopla of the rookies, and the new additions at safety, and the right tackle, and Tebow, and the new offense, and the new 4-man defensive fronts, and all that stuff. And I forgot all about Kyle. Kyle is absolutely intrical to not only the way this season turns out, but also future seasons.

As the article explains, Wilson is entering his third season and he's looking to live up to the expectations of being a first round pick. Although he showed improvement last season, he didn't quite make the jump he was expected to. But the lock-out could have had a lot to do with that. They say he's having a good camp so far this year, which I guess can be somewhat validated by the utter silence that has surrounded him. You would've heard something about him if he was being targeted. And if he's not being targeted it means his man isn't open. I have heard here and there about him making some plays though. Maybe he is finally coming into his own. In the article Revis was pretty effusive with his praise of Kyle. He complimented his approach and the way he has grinded. Maybe Revis sees a little of himself in the 3rd year youngster. I wouldn't at all mind having a Baby Revis out there.

Needless to say, I'm going to keep a keen eye out for Kyle Wilson tonight. I'm not going to pay to much mind to how many catches he surrenders, though. I just want to see how he looks, if he's sure of himself, and if he's positioned properly and quick to the ball. Hopefully Rex sticks him on Victor Cruz some to challenge Kyle and test him out. If Wilson can hold his own against Cruz and Eli, I think it would give him a huge confidence boost.
