Hey all. This is more a question to start a thread going then it is an interesting read, so I apologize for that in advance. As we all know, Cedric Benson is still up for grabs. Tossing aside his off the field issues, he's a back with three consecutive 1k+ rushing yard seasons. I feel that there's little downside to grabbing Benson if we can sign him within our cap limit. I'm not too versed on this subject, but I'm aware our cash is pretty low right about now. If he causes issues, we still have a few decent (albeit unproven) backs to take some pressure off Greene ,who I think is going to take a solid step forward in production next season.
My main questions are:
If this is a bad decision, why? Based on past decisions it seems like all the current big wigs in the JETS organization are about is on field production. We take in strays and (try to) slap them into shape.
If this is a good decision, why? Would it be better to give McKnight and Ganaway more snaps? What about Conner?
I think we're going to have a solid season this year. Can't wait to see NY lit up in green this year!
