I'm excited as almost everyone to get a RT with the size and skills of Otah. I like it that we only gave up a 7th rounder and if he kicks ass a 6th they say. My only reservation like I have like I did with Landry is that this guy's hurt all the time, he missed 31 of the last 35 games, more than Landry. The is a reason why we have a potential steal and the big IF is his health and motivation. It's not like the Panthers were so stupid that we got the deal of the year, though I hope that we do. I hope that Otah has some motivation left to get healthy and play like he can. The other side of the coin is that he could be lazy and satisfied with the 1st round money he got and lost that desire to get healthy and play hard. If that desire is gone and he doesn't deep down inside want it back, he's done.
I do hope that a change of team and coaches will do it for him. Some has said hopefully he's the next Maybin, I hope that too but Maybin was already real healthy and still had the desire inside and for him a change of team did work out for us. Again I like the low risk we took and hope that this is not another FO project with an always hurt player. We Jets fans get excited that they addressed the RT issue but until I see Otah healthy and motivated I will remain hopeful but cautious. MAN, I hope he gets his desire back, with that desire he will overcome his injuries and we get a very very good RT. If not, another FO move that got us so happy and hopeful but nothing came of it, then we have to keep praying that somehow the light went on in Hunter's or Vlad's head and they can somehow play RT and our QB doesn't get killed. lol
