After reading the post about Plax saying Sanchez was playing injured last year I decided to do a post. We knew Sanchez got drilled many times last year and most QB's would be out if they got drilled like that. We could tell Sanchez played hurt and with a lot of pressure from the opposing defense and us fans. The team overall played bad at times last year but one thing I do know that Sanchez is a winner and so is our team the Jets.

When we did get into the playoffs Sanchez really showed us that he was a winner and performed his best, that's the sign of a winner. He also has a winning record during the regular season. But the fact that he broke down at times last year and made bad decisions made him look not so good. Some said that he had his best numbers last year and never got good support and our OC was terrible. I agree with that too, but so what, the fact is that if he came though at critical times we probably would have made the playoffs, even with the OL not up to par. We know he had to run for his life many times, played hurt and the OL broke down, but a winner finds ways to win. This year with a better OC who we hope will also use the strengths of our QB, like play action and some roll outs that we saw was very effective and a quick or no huddle offense when the situation demands it. At times our former OC was an idiot and step on his own dick trying to out smart the other coaches and never stuck to what was working then and sent in plays that seem moronic, but that over and time to get bak to our strengths.

The defense even though 5th in total defense and many were saying there is nothing wrong with our defense, it was our offense that messed up. Again I say so what, the defense broke down many a time in critical situations. Forget the numbers, as with our QB and offense, if the defense played well in those times it would have overcome the faults of the offense and we probably would have made the playoffs. I'm glad the FO heard some of us and did improve the overall speed of the team especially the defense. Much talk with the coaches and players of how much the team speed improved. Would be a sight for sore eyes to see some pressure with a good pass rush instead of seeing an all out blitz and we get no pressure. I look forward to this season with anticipation of our Jets doing well in the ever improving AFC East, and NFL in general. Time to make the playoffs again and play like a JET.
