Was this the WORST move of the off season ?

The draft is finished and we have a better idea of what type of squad we will have going into the new season . We have filled some of our holes and left others alone in the hope that they can fix themselves . But something just occurred to me that the biggest requirement for a successful season will be our play at QB .

We have 5 young guys on the team at the moment . We all know Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow but we also have Greg McElroy ,G.J. Kinnie and Matt Simms . If you look at that list of QB's the one word you could use to describe all of them is " potential " . They all need to be developed for their game to improve . The person who's job it STILL is to develop these guys is Matt Cavanaugh . We have seen how a coaching change helped Alex Smith last year but we have stayed loyal to Matt Cavanaugh . Is this the biggest make or break to our season ?

Well looking at how he did so far with Sanchez i would suggest we are in for much of the same from Cavanaugh again this year . Hopefully the change at OC might make a difference but its a long shot . With so many young QB's on the roster we needed a coach that has a successful track record developing young QB's but the FO stayed with what they had and kept Matt Cavanaugh .

I am still very optimistic about our chances of success this year but was keeping Matt Cavanaugh with such a young group of QB's the biggest mistake we have made this year ?

Only time will tell but for me its just another example of the FO being happy to stand still when other teams are moving forward . This year is a big year for so many guys in this franchise and if Sanchez doesn't improve then i think that Matt Cavanaugh and the FO should be held as responsible as the player .
