1st round Pick 16 there are several ways the Jets could go but Im not expecting the Jets to go OT early and I really woudnt want them to unless its Riley Reiff and I cant see him falling to us to many teams need help at LT or RT.
Quinton Coples DE North Carolina 6-6 284 Scouting Report
Coples is the best pass rushing prospect in the draft and if he falls no way we pass up. Rex was at his pro day and got a close look at Coples working linebacker drills Coples said he had been practicing on coverage alot before his pro day showing he has the drive to be a 3-4 OLB in the NFL.
Melvin Ingram OLB South Carolina 6-1 264 Scouting Report
Rex was at his pro day, he's a solid pass rusher that can be moved all over the field but at this point he should hear his name called before Coples.
Michael Brockers DT LSU 6-6 322 Scouting Report
Rex was at his pro day, and schelued a private workout so I would say Rex is pretty high on him, I view him as 1 of 2 prospects that I have became infatuated with at #16. Brockers only a sophmore has shown a good abilty to disrupt plays and is drawing comparisons with Richard Seymour. Now I know alot of people belive the D-Line is set but this move will allow us to deal Devito for a 4th or 5th and come out with, Wilkerson, Pouha/Ellis & Brockers on our D-line making pass rushers jobs alot easier to get to the QB. The Jets can find pass rushers in 2nd but wont find another DE like Brockers.
Stephon Gilmore CB South Carolina 6-1 190 Scouting Report
Rex was at his pro day and saw his athleticism, He is my favorite prospect. Gilmore's intagablies are thru the roof
"Quiet, hard-working player who consistently gets praise from coaches and teammates for his work ethic and attitude. Puts in time in the film room, knows his opponents and defensive scheme inside and out. No worries about on-field effort, brings tenacious attitude on every play." from CBS Sports. His attitude, intelligence, aggresiveness and athleticism make him the best FS prospect in this draft.
Honarable Mentions : Trent Richardson, Whitney Mercilus
2nd Round Pick 47 - This pick is great because there should still be several OLB prospects that should be able to get after the QB especially if they didnt draft one in round 1.
Bruce Irvin DE/OLB West Virginia 6-3 245 Scouting Report
This guy shouldnt be on the board after pick 47 cause I dont see why the Jets would pass on him. Yes his recent arrest is troubling but he is a top 32 talent and has the potential to be somethin special, Rex knows Irvin visted the Jets and had a private workout and OLB coach worked at his school for 2 weeks they know if hes worth the risk and if he is he will be picked up at 47.
Shea McClellin OLB Boise State 6-3 260 Scouting Report
Not an elite athlete, but relentless and energy rusher who plays with obvious passion and tenacious motor. The Jets need to upgrade the OLB situation and he fits with what the Jets what to do his stock is on the rise and he may not be here.
Mohamed Sanu WR Rutgers 6-2 215 Scouting Report
His combo of size & strength with his soft hands make him a great option to compete for the #2 job.
George Iloka FS Boise State 6-4 225 Scouting Report
This guy is talented hes split his career at CB and FS and when its our job to stop 6'6'' TEs he might be the guy to stop giving up giant chunks of yardage to TEs. 47 might be too eraly but I dont see him still on the board come our next draft pick so they could trade down but I woundt complain if they took him at 47.
Round 3 pick 77
Greg Childs WR Arkansas 6-3 217 Scouting Report
Manuvsteal PostThis draft class is very deep when it comes to recivers I expect Childs to be a solid reciever his rated as a 3rd - 4th round prospect because of a knee injury he got in 2010 and struggled in 2011 because of that knee but after his pro day its obvious he is fully healed be was clocked between 4.39-4.41 40 time; along with a 40.5 inch vertical this guy could come in and take the #2 reciever spot.
Markelle Martin FS Oklahoma State 6-1 207 Scouting Report
Martins knee injury is keeping his stock down but he is a solid player including one year having 10 pass deflections. He's bounced back and forth between FS and SS and I see him as an ideal fit to take over next year as a SS because we need both of our safties to have coverage skills.
Mychal Kendricks ILB California 5-11 240 Scouting Report
He really showed his athleicism during the combine and the Jets could use someone to replace Bart Scott after this season
Honarable Mentions - Nick Toon WR Wisconsin, Ladarius Green TE Louisiana-Lafayette, Chase Minnifield CB/S Virginia
