In the spirit of the list of the Top 100 players in the NFL coming out this week, I would love to do something fun. I would love to challenge all of you to come up with a list of the Top 25 players in the NFL, according to you. Below the jump, I will post my list with a little explanation behind it. Lets see how ours compares!
In my opinion, he is the best player at the most important position of the game. He deserves the number one spot.
2. Tom Brady
As much as I hate to say it, Tom Brady is currently the 2nd best QB in the league. He takes the number two spot.
3. Drew Brees
Here is another amazing QB, who put up insane stats last year.
He didn't play last year, but if healthy, he is one of the best players in the league, and would probably be even higher than this. However, due to the uncertainty, he has fallen down to spot #4.
This spot belongs to our very own Darrelle Revis. He's the best non-QB player in the league in my opinion, only behind the very elite Quarterbacks. He shuts down the opponents' #1 receiver week in and week out, with very little to no help. One of the best CBs to ever play the game.
Its a passing league now, and Calvin Johnson is a physical freak, and the best receiver in the game today.
7. Adrian Peterson
Here is a guy who is the best running back in the game. He's very hard to stop.
8. Ed Reed
Here is one of the best safetys to play the game. He's a ballhawk, and is very deserving of the number 8 pick.
Willis is the best LB in the league, and he is the staple of the 49ers defense.
10. Demarcus Ware
Ware sure knows how to terrorize QBs, and is the 2nd best LB in the league.
11. Eli Manning
He has won more superbowls than his older brother Peyton, but in my opinion, Peyton is still better. Eli is the best of the second tier of QBs in the league.
12. Andre Johnson
In my opinion, he is the second best receiver in the league. He's got a huge frame, is very reliable, and is a good deep threat.
13. Troy Polamalu
Here is the second best safety in the league. He's very athletic, and is a hard hitter.
14. Joe Thomas
In my opinion, he is the best LT in the league. LT is a position that is essential to protecting a QBs blindside.
15. Arian Foster
Foster is an insane talent at RB, and his play in last year's playoffs showed that. He's young, and should be good for a very long time.
16. Larry Fitzgerald
Another beastly receiver, who had been doubled a lot last year due to a lack of other threats on the Cardinals offense. Hopefully that will change this year, with the addition of Michael Floyd. Fitzgerald should have a great year.
17. Clay Matthews
This guy is an amazing pass rusher for the Packers. He is able to get after the quarterback with relative ease. Plus, it doesn't hurt that he is on the "Discount Double Check" commercials.
18. Julius Peppers
He's been in the league for a long time now, and he can still get after the QB. He definitely deserves a spot on this list.
19. Ndamukong Suh
He's built up a reputation of being a "dirty player", but that doesn't change the fact that he is a truly dominant player.
20. Haloti Ngata
Here is another dominant player, who is able to get after the QB.
21. Rob Gronkowski
He had a monster year last year, breaking the Touchdown record for a TE (17 tds). He's the best TE in the league right now, and teams have yet to find an answer.
22. Jimmy Graham
Also had a monster year last year. He's the Saints version of Gronkowski, and frankly comes in a close second in the TE position.
23. Jake Long
He's the second best LT in this league.
He's one of the best QBs in the league, and has extreme toughness.
25. Nick Mangold
Our very own Nick Mangold tops off this list. He's the best center in the league. His value became obvious when he got injured last year, and he deserves the recognition of being on this list.
Honorable Mention: (To round out to 30; no particular order)
Ray Rice, Matthew Stafford, Terrell Suggs, Mario Williams, Nnamdi Asomugha
