Just a quick littler reminder to some people.
I've seen posts pertaining to Dustin Keller around the website, saying that it was a bad idea to resign him because we are a run oriented team, and Dustin Keller is a receiving, poor blocking TE. This would mean people are implying in order to succesfully ground and pound and succesfully run the ball, you would need to have a run blocking TE, who is not Dustin Keller. Just wanted to remind everybody that in 2009, i believe it was the Jets who led the league in rushing, with some guy named Dustin Keller starting at TE.By the way, this was also a less experienced Keller. So clearly, it is possible to ground and pound with Dustin Keller as your TE. With that being said, since we've concluded you can infact ground and pound with Keller, it definetly makes sense to resign him because he is one of Sanchez's favorite targets and gives you a much needed target in the passing game for an offense that was absolutely horrible last year, in addition to the running game.
And in advance, because i know this will be said. "Yeah but in 2009 the Jets had a better OLine". Ok, but this would show that Keller is not the problem, its in fact the OLine that is the problem. It is entirely possible to run the ball with Keller as your TE, the Oline is worse, you upgrade the OLINE, which we all know we need to, and theres no reason you cant run the ball with Keller at TE its been done in the past.
