Avery was a 2nd round pick of the St. Louis Rams in 2008 after running a 4.3 40-yard dash. He enjoyed a decent first two seasons (amassing 100 receptions, 1263 yards, and 8 TD), but went down in the 2010 preseason with a knee injury and missed the entire 2010. He was on the Tennessee Titans last season, but only registered 3 catches and 1 TD. If his knee is fully healed, he might be the deep-threat that the Jets sorely missed last season.
