The Jets announced on their Twitter page that they have re-signed kicker Nick Folk.

Folk only hit 76% of his kicks last year but hit 84% from inside 50 yards, which is not horrible. He also added to his legend of clutchness with a 50 yarder to beat the Cowboys the first week of the season. The team has to deal with his weak kickoff leg, but Mike Westhoff has been able to do so effectively. The Jets seem to have him hang the ball high in the air to give coverage units time to get down the field. That should continue.

A number of beat writers have indicated the Jets will bring in some competition for him. That sounds good to me. At worst, the team will go with Folk. If somebody better comes along, great. Maybe they can find somebody in the Draft.
