Question from a Bengals fan.....
There has been a lot of debate lately about who the Bengals should pick. And I have been supporting the idea to trade up to get Trent Richardson, because if we sit like ducks, some one ahead of the Bengals will pick TR.
Which brings me to my question. IF by chance that TR falls to the number 16th pick, do you believe the Jets will pick TR ?
I have been in many debates on the possible teams that would be interested in TR enough to pick and I believe the Jets would be one of the teams that would select him, if he falls to them.
I get Greene is a solid back, but by no means is he MJD or Peterson. And I believe he is going into his last year of his contract, right? So picking TR really isn't that big a stretch of the imagination. And it would be hard to pass up a top 5 talent at the 16th pick.
Please fill me in and take the time to vote. thanks!
And I know realistically TR wont fall that far, but this is to settle a debate.

Sorry
Absolutely no doubt here we take him if he falls to us or we deal the pick to someone who wants him by trading back and getting more picks which would also be idea. Honestly i don’t think there’s any chance he falls that far though.
oh i agree, that TR wont fall that far
That was part of my point. If we really want TR we are going to have to trade into the top 10 to get him for sure.
But there are people that think TR can very easily fall to our 17th or 21st pick. Lol

We've drafted a running back every year under Rex
I suspect we’ll do it again this year too. If Richardson is there at 16 there is no chance we’ll pass on him unless we trade down.
Oh yes that's right, I'm a Jets fan.

I think if Richardson is there at 16
The other players that the Jets would be interested at 16 would not be there, so yeah
There's no way he falls down that far, but if he does, then he's by far the bpa
So yeah, I think us at 16 is the absolute farthest that he could fall, and there’s probably only around a 5% chance of that happening.
I think we grab him at 16.
No chance he falls below that IMO.
i said no
not because i don’t like the guy or think he sucks cause i think hes pretty good. but if he falls to 16 id like the Jets to try and trade back. get a later 1st and add a 2nd.
I Wouldn't Pick Him
But I’m sure that Tanny would, and probably Sparano and maybe even Rex as well.
A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. Ok, so it looks like from what I have seen so far
The Jets would most likely take him but there is a chance that they might trade down, but TR is definitely a player the Jets would take.

I can't remember the last time we actually traded down in the first
So I’d say there is about a 98% chance we’d at 16. Hell, we might trade up for him.

I actually think him falling to #16 would be somewhat realistic.
If he does, I’m all for it. He’s a beast, there’s no denying it, and we can still help our draft in the future rounds. Definitely all for him if he drops.
I think its a ver slim chance he falls that far, especially after the combine
from what I hear, TR is gym rat and he will out bench half of the lineman that are going to participate. And he runs a 4.4 at 220 pounds, so I can only see his stock rising from here unitl the draft.
But you never know, I wasn’t really high on drafting a RB until I found out, if the TR falls around the 10th pick, the bengals would have to give up a 1st (17th) and a 2nd round pick to move up. So that trade we made with the Raiders, would have essentially been Palmer for TR (and hue lol). So it just makes a lot of sense for the bengals to trade up, but no many people are on that bandwagon

Think about it.
The Bucaneers are the only early team that would consider taking a Rb because Blount is so meh. The Fins and Dolphins could, but they have such other needs. Then, you ghave the Seahwaks as the only other team that might consider him, but Leon is still around to backup Lynch and Forsett isn’t bad. He could drop, believe me. Nobody will BPA pick him when they have gaping holes to fill.
you are also leaving out teams that would trade up into the mid teens to take him too
Browns, Broncos, lions, and possibly the Packers that could use an immediate upgrade at the RB positions that could trade up from the 20’s.
But the cheifs and cardinals could use an upgrade at RB. And the bills may take him as well because their current RB is getting up there in age.

You all forget who owns the Bengals
Mike Brown is even worse than the Bidwells. He would never trade up if it means he has to pay more money to a player. With 2 #1’s they will sit where they are or trade DOWN.
And for the Jets I am against picking a running back n the first round, given their longevity at their position vs others, and the fact that RB’s are commodities like Dunkin’ Donuts in this day and age. You don’t even have to draft one and you can replace them from year to year.
oh i know who our owner is lol
but its not often that a RB of TR caliber comes out. Im surprised he hasn’t been hyped up that much yet. But after the combine, he will be a clear top 5 pick.
