Because of tiebreakers, the Jets finished third in the AFC East. In 2013, AFC East teams will play home and home against each other, the teams from the AFC North, and the teams from the NFC South. Because the Jets finished third, they will also face the third place teams from the AFC West, Oakland, and the AFC South, Tennessee.
This year, the Jets caught a break by getting the AFC South and the NFC West. They still finished 6-10. Next year, they face perhaps the two deepest divisions in the league. Yikes.
The actual schedule will be released in the spring.
