After enduring the roller coaster circus of a season that these Jets crammed to the fans it is finally over. In a very fitting fashions Sanchez gave away the win. Been handed a gift after a horrific interception Sanchez just dropped the ball, literally. He gave away the game, literally. Five turnovers. And now it is finally over. Rex can play McElroy even Tebow and try new things. The Jets can rest their starters and keep them healthier, give Landry, Bell and Cro longer shelf life.
It is obvious that Mark will no longer work out. Whenever he is given a chance he throws it away. When Tebow came to the team and even when he was benched he showed no competitive fire. He did not took offense and tried to get better to prove that he was the man. He never took the reins. A quarterback's job is to drive the offense, lead the team. He rarely did either. And as the season went and every thing got tougher he folded. At least we can never say that Tebow has given up on himself.
It is not all broken dreams and fumbles though. Wilkerson, Coples, Allen and Kerley are showing growth. Heck Wilkerson should go to the pro-bowl. Powel is a great complimentary back. With a second good linebacker this defense could be great. Revis might not make demands or could be signed for a friendlier contract than what he wanted. The team can focus in fixing their salary cap errors, trading Sanchez/Tebow and developing McElroy and Hill. Start scouting for a linebacker and some offensive linemen, start looking for a replacement for Bell.
Now we can relax and look forward to next year's fun house. Will Sanchez be the starter? Will Rex, Tanny or anybody still be in the team? Who is getting traded? Will the Jets build the future around Tebow? No more playoffs to think about, no real QBs in the draft. The next few months of something called NFL football might distract us from Jets football but we will have plenty of craziness to focus on.
